My practice begins with looking and thinking an awful lot. I've always been observant and introspective, so I notice interactions, expressions, objects and moments that could often pass unnoticed. Painting has always felt like the best way to translate those observations.

I work primarily in figurative painting, drawing on personal experiences, imagined scenarios and the everyday moments that shape how we understand ourselves and others. Rather than documenting events as they happened, I'm interested in translating how they felt. Painting allows me to alter scale, colour, composition and perspective to communicate something that words cannot.

Alongside painting, I create sculptural and site responsive installations using  everyday objects. I'm interested in how context changes meaning, how an object that feels ordinary in one setting can become loaded with new significance in another.
